what are your ambitions, evil Chris? what's been some of the most frustration obstacles you've faced?
A dark purple tendriled eye stares at the anon for a moment before it's retracted back into a familiar figure. A 6'0 young man levitates in front of grimoire, thought still a bit massive, he has lost the soft edge to him. The once treasured glasses that belonged to his mother were now cracked. His soft hands had becme rough from years of neglect and his fingertips have now become stained in darkness.
This wasn't the Chris Luna we all knew and loved. This was a Chris that had long since abandoned kindness for his own selfish desires.
He tilts his head at a 90 degree angel in thought, a sickening crack of his neck following.
"Ambitions....?" Chris echoes, "Traveling...doing what the fuck I want."
The corrupt witch shrugs."
"Eating what and whenever I want. Doing what I want. If I want to steal, burn, whatever, I want to be able to do that as long as I can. But certain people like ZORA and GRANNY !"
His voice raises to an echo in a brief spot of anger.
"Stop me from doing that with their bullshit rules. Doesn't help that have dickheads who follow them! Oh...and I guess the bullshit of doing Cthullu's bullshit work in between dimensions...but theres a price for all this power."

Today I organized msot of the fics I had in my read later list to actually start reading them. That gave me the idea, why not recomend some? So here are some fics. This isn't an exsaustive list of the best of the best, since I don't have the energy for something like that. simply, these are some fics I liked.
"Half" by ArceusTheCat
"An alien interpreter on a human planet comes across a particularly powerful piece of music from a busker."
A 600 word light angst post-good ending reading with an unusual premise, I like it for that.
"31st 1/3" by Kerbonaut
"Mari has been gone for longer than she was here. Sunny confronts the fact."
A 800 word light angst post-good ending with a really pretty prose.
"as the clock struck midnight" by octotaviaorsmthidk
"a short, single-chapter au about the main 6 in omori hanging out at the end of the world."
A 900 words angsty read with a concept that right up my alley and which executes just right in the first half. the second half kinda lost me a bit, it's not bad, just not (in my eyes) as good as the first half.
"Dead Lilies" by wrstwrtr
"Sunny realized he was no longer a star in the void. He had died, exploding into a stunning supernova before sputtering out into a black hole that destroys and cries, screams, and aches, waiting silently to fade out of existence."
A 1300 words read divided in two chapters thats some heavy angst. I find this really capturates Sunny's deplorable state the years following Mari's death. it hits!
"Kill calamitous fettuccini: The unworthiness" by anonymous
"I swear to god this story is 98% true."
A 1600 words crackfic that's basicaly a creepypasta parody. have you ever wanted to read a omori creepypasta? here you have it.
"born to love you" by andrewwtca
"Yukina Suzuki's life was hard, but at the very least, she had her children to love and look after… Had her children."
A 1700 words really angsty fic that feels like being punched in the gut. If you wanna read more depictions of Sunny's mother you can't miss this one out!
"More to be found beneath the black" by lesleynoble
"Sweetheart had always felt a profound emptiness. Nothing in her life, no matter how many things she tried, worked to fill it. Then, she died, swallowed by darkness along with the rest of her world. And she woke up, back in her bed, the world reset to an established status quo. She needed answers."
A 2000 words angst fic with one chapter until now that explores Sweetheart's character.
"Stranger hosts a party (sort of)" by orphan account
"Set after the fight with Stranger in the Hikikomori Route. Stranger gives up on trying to help Sunny and instead sets out to host a party with a bunch of residents of Black Space."
A 5000 word fluff and crack reading, divided in 4 chapters. It's a fun read, of blackspace characters being silly. I think is good for the festivities, since it's party-themed!
"The sun reaches my bed" by Yufiduspawn
"Sunny’s chest feels lighter. His conscience is a bit clearer. He may never get the happy ending he wants, he may never be forgiven. That’s okay he thinks, he can forgive himself at least. He can live the rest of his days trying to find out what happiness will look like to him. Time to rise and shine."
A 10000 word post-good end reading, divided in 8 chapters until now. This one has quickly becme one of my favorites post-good end, with the way it handles Sunny telling the truth and he reaction of the friends.
"oboeru (to remember)" by joofanna
"Sunny takes the first step in starting a new life. The trouble with it is he never thought he'd live this long.
Sunny-centric post good-end fic"
A 16000 words read divided in 3 chapters until now. light angst. I think post-good ending fics centering around Sunny's life in the city are my favorites, and this one fits well in what I like about those.
"deep sea reprieve" by IAmTheShpee
"It is one week before his first recital with his sister. It’s a hugely important event, and Sunny has to get it perfectly right. He needs to, there’s no other choice. But everything changed when he finds a tiny, baby mer hiding away in a tide pool. What will become of Sunny, Mari and Omori?"
A 18000 word au mostly fluff reading, divided in 10 chapters until now. I'm not one that gravitates towards aus very much, but this one was fun to read and I read it in one go.
"Allegretto ma non troppo" by Tsibiu
"Sunny picks up the violin again, determined to finally perform the recital that never happened.
About Sunny's growth in the backdrop of a new goal. Takes place post-canon, ~1 year after the good ending. Very slow-paced and introspective in tone. Rather Sunny-centric. Attempts to be realistic and canon-compliant."
A 39000 words angsty reading, divided in 5 chapters until now, that I believe is worth it for the style alone. As the summary says, is pretty slow-paced, lots of metaphores and really pleasant to read.Right up my ally, but I guess it isn't everyone's cup of tea.
well im not very good at explaining my reasons for liking these but hopefully there's something you'll like.

We think more of a good thing is a great thing actually the Charlotte County Park three will take a little longer to eat away they're pretty big 800 foot with only two small crevices it's not gonna do it and we looked and checked and they're still not very big one of them is about a foot wide and 8 or nine feet deep the other is two foot wide at the top it goes down to six inches wide at the bottom and it's about 10 feet deep and it's kind of the same on the other two it goes all the way out to the ocean so it takes a while for it to get there and it's still kind of brackish so it's a little slow there is an anomaly happening on the way in and out when that material comes out it goes down through the trench and it is kind of causing turbidity and it is infiltrating the side and causing bubbles and igniting things and the trench is two foot wide the whole way and it's most of the way down on both and it's going to be wider and wider everyday probably for about a week and this has been opening up on its own pretty soon it will actually start igniting the circles on the other ones this is two or three to each it's a natural process and some salt water gets in every title change right now it's going out and the stuff is coming out and it's making the channels wider and we think by tomorrow morning the first three channels will be 3 foot wide and 10 feet deep and it's pretty big but not considering that it's a title change into a freshwater title pool inside the cavernous freshwater and they flooded it on purpose no but they left the opening and it filled it probably shouldn't have it started to deteriorate and the salts that come from the soils and they've been doing that all over the place so you're gonna lose territory and our father and mother from China and Japan Indonesia the Philippines Vietnam Cambodia malaysia laos thailand Taiwan and places like Bhutan and even where the Buddhist monks are they are the water people they've been known to be for a long time some of them more than others but it's legend that they can swim very well. And this is mostly their doing yes and they know about it it's hard for these guys. Possible but they're not very good at it and they'll have to come here shortly. Really now actually because of what's happening and we're gonna get to that in a moment.

Meet Jezabel, the last of the witch collection and she was the third witch i made, second one in an RP i was doing.
Her heart is replaced with a Black Quartz (something I've enabled in my witches)
Jezabel was from a well to do family, she had no time for those beneath her and was very entitled in her youth. However after her mother passed away she was forever dressed in morning dresses and colours, and watched as her father tried to find ways to bring her mother back.
He became so lost in his work he neglected her. It was around this time that she fell in love with a young man that was friends with the Town Lords son.
Her love was obessive and intense, and she was very possessive of his attention, even if he didnt know her or looked her way. However his love was on another woman and when this infomation hit Jezabel she didnt know how to react to such a thing.
in the coming months her father would pass due to an illness and Jezabel fell into a state of madness. One thing piling up one after another untill she snapped, apearing before the man to confess her love in such a dishevelled state, and though he let her down sweetly, she eneded up killing him.
Taking the body she used it to practice her fathers Sins of black magic, becoming a Necromancer when she revived him, but lost a peice of her when doing so. Though she revived him into an animated corpse, she still lost him to his love intrest and was on the verge of killing herself, a traveler in the village decided to take her under their wing and teach them how to becme a true necromancer.
Now Jezabel works in a funeral home. She prefures the company of the dead rather then the living. Its not known how her time with her teacher was like or how it truly effected her, but she still dresses for morning and her eyes have list their 'soul'.
She uses her Necromancy for mediumship, passing on last messages to the deceased family members. She dosent want any attention brought to her.

i wanna uhhhhhh update my ffxvi post: i did end up giving it a chance and so i will elaborate on the Me (tm) official review: theres a lot buckle in (spoilers for th3 entire game)
ok.,,,,,,...... now dat were all here letz go
First id just like to say soken delivers another phenomenal soundtrack(no surprize there) Historie - the holy empire and Titan lost are some of my favorite tracks in the game i cannot say i expected anything otherwise and it was a delight to get to every major dominant battle to hear what he cooked
on the topic of battle the gameplay was another huge plus for me. when all else failed i found myself returning to ffxvi for the gameplay alone because it is very genuinely fun, fast paced, and i enjoyed the variety of each eikon it kept rhe game fresh for me espically when it slowed down in every other aspect, i enjoyed every eikon battle to death whenever i couldnt decide if i /liked/ the game while playing i remember fighting titan. i had no clue how the fight would play out despite being late to the scene and i was blown away by how good it was. everything about it was so enjoyable it honestly empowered me to get to the rest of them and bahamut was just as much of a treat. it helped i love dion (i will be getting to characters) and his phase themes (beyond the heavens&ascension) were brilliant. the bahamut fight much like titan did not disappoint. for me at least it felt odin had a bit of a much welcomed difficulty spike enjoyed that fight a lot even if it wasnt as cinematic as bahamut and titan
speaking of... cinematic scenes were a weak point to me.. as cool as they were and they /were/ i cant help but feel like there had to be a better way to interrupt the fight. sometimes it really took me out of the moment to have my fight paused to just like press a button or mash or some shit. its fine just got old /fast/
as far as the rest of the battles they were all fun adn well and good.. i enjoyed every fight theme and found every fight mostly enjoyable although i cant help but feel the DPS check section fighting ultima where you kinda fly arounf him in circles would have been leagues more fun if it was a drakengaerd 3 style synced to thr music event... imagine that....it would be so awesome it woukd be so cool................. anyway as far as the actual final fight.. well lets get to the characters and story first
i wont be discussing the controversy surrounding the game because, despite it impacting my experience playing the game in very real ways, it just isnt what i wanna get into in this base post
alright. maybe i wasnt paying rnough attention but the story to me fell apart when ultima became a bigger actor on the stage. absolutely dont get the lad or the crystals. were destroying yhe mother crystals cos theyre killimg the planet fine well and good the story's pacing in this part was really wonk to me haha it would go from desperately boring an sluggish to fun for a moment and then just so boring again. it wasnt until the final two mother crystals when i became invested in whats happening. the mothercrystal plot twist was like oh ok well cid died for nothing /shrug i really dgaf either way i only really care my beloved mid. i really found myself most invested when characters i liked specifically becme involved with the plot (dion its dion its always dion)
dion's story to me was easily the best (yes my favorite heavensward character was aymeric. whos fucking surprised) fang and and vanille always had the most profound impact on me as far as ff relations go and its def because they were the closest thing we had to a canonical queer relationship and i will say dion and terance felt.. good? i know theyre not the /best/ and fang and vanille were leagues ahead of them a decade ago bit theres that just the way theres no question about their queerness just felt so good to see as a long time queer fan of the series who put up w its homophobic moments lol........... they were definitely a genuine highlight for me and their relationship was so beautiful and refreshing i wish we saw more of them.. especially because clive and jill just did not hit lolll. i couldnt believe how little i resonated with clive, joshua too. for me i usually have no problem relating to the main cast they all feel so human and real even when theyre cartoonish theres an undeniable down to earthness and relatability of most of the ff main casts i just couldnt bring myself to really care about clive
jill's story was for a brief moment something interesting and exciting. this was a woman in a yoshi p game w her own arc where the male character plays a fully supportive role and she isnt put in a passive role for her own story to move someone elses development along jill for the briefest moment maintains her own active will to get closure on her trauma where she isnt punished for it its just so disappointing its her only moments in the game. her character arc is chapters short and afterwards she would almost exclusively play passive roles, even giving clive her powers after they share an equally intimate scene both naked and venerable only for a dynamic to be reinserted through the form of dominant's power
clive was just nothing to me, i honestly tried to like him and i did mostly enjoy joshua as a character but i just did not ever care for his story ultima was so unfleshed out and strange ffxvi was best when it was pretty grounded to the on continent conflicts, the story doesnt feel like it was built around ultima the story honestly feels like it was built around the empire and ultima was an after thought. and man vs empire and then suddenly extraterrestrial/celestial freaks are involved isnt even uncommon ff plot progression. i could play like 5 other final fantasy games at that point. if the combat in ffxvi werent so addicting it would have nothing. (untrue of course it always has a brilliant soundtrack) i just really did not like the way the game built off itself it never felt natural or believable. none of the conflict with ultima felt grounded or natural or like it was built up in any meaningful way
i really dont understand the hype around clive hes very genuinely just a pretty face. i just dont care about u at all no matter how hard i tried
i never cared about hugo or benedickta either, although theyre like tertiary antagonists to be fair
joshua was another highlight for me. hes just very polite and jote was cute if definitely underutilized. i really dont have much else to say i wasnt surprised he died
clive i knew would die, that was a spoiler i knew w out a doubt going in and i was completely disappointed in it anyway. joshua made sense at Least he was basically dying the entire game and dion well. it makes sense yoshi p would kill the one gay man we cant have shit in eorzea but seeing clives entire arc be no dont kill yourselfffffff..... the world and its endless beauty is a bounty of possibilities and meaning. just to die anyway feels well. it just feels and to be fair clive did sacrifice himself for the lives of others but the scene where cid tells clive not to kill himself- regardless of how ungentle he put it- just feels so empty because well clive u could hav just killed yourself there i guess. sorry you were a slave for 13 years youll die before you get to live your life for yourself. like cmon narratively a more satisfying arc for him would have been to overcome this and live for himself even if he has to live w out joshua. he can move on hes done it partially before hes accepted himself he must live but he doesnt get to
its a shame. also unrelated the final fantasy namedrop made me reel but i forgave it for honestly being a little camp......... the lodestone name drop is Not forgiven. just horrible someone shpuld be fired
i dont really have much else to say and out of a desire to post this soon im gonna wrap it up. honestly i had high hopes for final fantasy 16 and im not one to go "oh final fantasy now sucks" because i Love ff13. i love ff15. i liked ff14 a normal amount. but ff16 just felt underwhelming compared to them.. it looked leagues better dont get me wrong even if ill always think ff13 is visually the best out of 'modern' final fantasy for its incredible cgi cutscenes good art direction and the ps3 charm the realtime cutscenes in 16 sometimes felt undynamic in comparison but real time vs cgi is very literally games hardware vs movie so........ not comparable tbh the environment and general worldbuilding of 16 was just so lackluster. the world felt so unreal even if it looked incredibly real, the plot was unfocused at times and inadequately built up, the characters are mostly uninteresting, and the character eith the most meaningful connection to clive was torgal. well torgal and cid but cid dies and leaves a gaping hole in the 'good character' category when it was just him mid and dion to begin with
still fun to hunt rank s's though ☝️

Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery
In my elementary days, every time that I'm riding in a jeep going to Nagcarlan market with my mother and visiting our relatives in Liliw, I saw Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery and thought that it was a church not a cemetery. For the reason that, it looks like a church, so that as a child I really thought that it is a church because no one told me that it is a cemetery. But when I became Grade 5, I realized that it is a cemetery and many people were buried there for a long time. I discovered the beauty of Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery when I was a Grade 7 student, the time that I finally saw it near as before and get inside to it. It is located in Bambang, Nagcarlan, Laguna. The architectural style which is Baroque style of Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery is very unique among the other cemetery in the Philippines and makes it more attractive to the local and international tourists. This place is very old but still standing until now, showing its stability. The green grasses and flowers in the area makes me feel comfortable and relaxed every time that I visited the place. Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery is a very historical place and have big contributions in the history. According to Ozaki (2018), it was built in 1845 by Father Vicente Velloc and declared as a National Historical Landmark in 1973. In 1896, it was the secret meeting place of Filipino Katipuneros and the Pact of Biak-na-Bato was planned in 1897 in this location. Furthermore, this place was used as a hideout for guerillas that resisting the Japanese occupation during the World War II. Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery is important to me not only because it is a big part of our history, but also it is significant to me since it was part of my journey of improving and learning as a student. For the reason that, it was always the meet ups and practice place of our group members in different subjects when I was a Grade 7 student, when we need to practice our role play, other group activities and just to have meet ups to gather all group members then went in the main place of meeting or practice. Just for clarification, the place we conducted our practice and meet ups was outside of the Underground Cemetery, outside the gate. At first, I don't know the reasons of my classmates for always wanting the Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery to be the location of our practice and meet ups. But then, I realized how comfortably and relaxing is the place, specially the air that touches our skin was really great and the green grasses that we sit upon was like we were having picnic without eating food but giving and sharing our ideas about our activities. The role play, activities and other things that we practiced in this place improves me as a student and I learned a lot from those of my experiences. The communication and relationship of each members of our group becme better and stronger. This place is part of history, but also it is part of my story, my improvement, and my life. Every places have its own history that we should respect, value and appreciate.
For more information about Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery, blog by Aljhun Ozaki: https://travelaguna.home.blog/2018/12/15/nagcarlan-underground-cemetery/#:~:text=It%20was%20used%20by%20the,%2Dna%2DBato%20in%201897.

April 19: My So-Called Life 1x10
This episode always makes me especially emotional, and I think that's only becoming more true as I get older. Rayanne strikes me as sadder, and in a sense scarier, than she did or could when I was a teenager, and Patty (again) just becmes more impressive and more sympathetic. By which I mean it becomes easier for me to understand her and her POV.
The thing is Patty is always the person who's just trying so hard all the time. She is where Angela gets her earnestness from, except she's 40 so it's uncool (lol). And part of the reason she tries so hard and does so much is because no one else is trying as hard or doing as much. Graham and Patty may be an inverted gender-stereotype marriage in some ways, but this is such a woman's role: the emotional head of house. But it's because of Patty that things get done or new things are tried and she is always reliable, always competent, always there when she's needed. I mean that's the big lesson of this episode--Amber is the cool mom but she's neglectful, selfish, bad in a crisis, both overly emotional and unable to deftly handle emotions in others. Patty is embarrassing and lame and try-hard but she's capable and reliable.
But honestly she's also a way cooler than she's given credit for. Like, she sees her teen daughter and friends with a beer in the middle of the afternoon and she just kinda sputters a bit, then takes Angela aside, talks to her about another topic entirely, and then simply says "you won't do that again" and Angela just agrees. Because Angela didn't want the beer anyway. She was uncomfortable with Rayanne having it. Patty knows all of this about her. She trusts Angela, and even when Angela does something Patty doesn't want her to do, that trust is never really misplaced. Angela is the daughter who calls home. And then she makes small talk at the party.
It's very interesting me to trace the 3 generations of mothers and daughters in Angela's family. They all have the exact same party face. They are people who can perform, even if that means separating themselves from what they're feeling. I don't think Patty and Angela are passive aggressive like Vivian--but maybe that's just to Patty's credit lol. She's super well adjusted for someone with parents as stressful as hers.
Angela remains remarkably astute for someone who is 15; still my favorite quality of hers. I especially liked the line about her mother pretending to be happy rather than being happy, and her monologue about the tarot cards at the end.
Rickie was very interesting to me in this episode. First, I noticed for the first time that he's wearing an AIDS ribbon on his shirt at school, which is such a great costuming detail for him. And second, he's just so heartbreaking in this episode. He fairly obviously half-lives at Rayanne's. When Angela tried instinctively to insert herself between Rayanne and Amber and Rickie held her back, you could see his experience and, in a sense, expertise within this scenario: he's been here before. Maybe not OD-bad, but he's been here. He and Rayanne really have no one reliable other than each other--every other relationship simmers with the threat of violence, is transitory, is shallow, is broken. It's such a dysfunctional and unhealthy relationship. I think it's probably more...equal than it appears to be, since so much of the show focuses on Rayanne's issues and Rickie's valiant efforts to be everything for her all the time, but Rayanne is the one with the safe home for Rickie to crash at, she's the one who cleans up his injuries after he's been bullied or abused at home, and she does her best to keep him safe at school. She probably also provides him with the same thing that Angela liked when she came to the 'other country' of the Graff/Vallone apartment: effusive, happy emotions, a welcoming attitude, laughter, appetizers. He just needs it more than Angela does. Also, he has nothing anywhere near home-like to contrast it to. This is the closest to a functional family he has. So of course he'd try so hard to protect her that it hurts.
I wonder if Patty, as she listens to Rickie in the hospital, sees her relationship dynamic with her college friend reflected in his dynamic with Rayanne. She contrasts it to Rayanne and Angela for obvious reasons (she's talking to her daughter, Angela) but I think the relative intensity and isolation of a college roommate situation--you're zero to 100 with a stranger, living on top of each other, quasi-independent for the first time--would create a dynamic much more similar to the co-dependent friendship that Rickie and Rayanne have.
That's a pretty random place to stop but I don't really have any other thoughts! I still want to do my headcanon fic so bad but like... I'm also so tired so!!

anyway always being emotional about Feanor and Miriel ..
‘Finwë, first lord of the Noldor, first named his son Finwion; but later when his talent was revealed this was modified to Curufinwë. But the name of insight which his mother Míriel gave to him in the hour of his birth was Fëanáro ‘Spirit of Fire’; and by this name he becme known to all, and so he is so called in all the histories. (It is said also he took this name as his chosen name in honour of his mother, whom he never saw.” (LaCE, morgoth’s ring)
“So Fëanor would call himself ‘Son of the Þerindë’” - Shibboleth
“Fëanor loved his mother dearly” - Shibboleth and And the location of Formenos... “Northward in Valinor, in the hills near to the halls of Mandos.”.... I feel like there was probably a reason to why he chose to go in Exile near where his mother was kept. :’(
And the similarities--
‘she could show an ultimate obstinacy that counsel or command would only make more obdurate.’ Shibboleth)> Few ever changed his courses by counsel, none by force.’(Published Silm)
“He was restless in mind and body, though like Míriel he could become wholly absorbed in works of the finest skill of hand;” > “As he grew from childhood he became ever more like Finwë in stature and countenance, but in mood he resembled Míriel rather.”
‘Fëanáro was like his mother in voice and countenance’ (later Quenta, Morgoth’s ring) > ‘Soft and sweet was her voice, and she sang as she worked, like rippling water, in music without words. ‘
‘her hands were more skilled to make things fine and delicate than any other hands even among the Noldor.’ > ‘He became of all the Noldor, then or after, the most subtle in mind and the most skilled in hand.
‘Her chief talent, however, was a marvellous dexterity of hand” (Shibboleth)> “ He alone could make nor even Aulë compass, so great was the slender dexterity of the fingers of Fëanor, (the Book of Lost Tales)’
[Miriel] is of that sort who having said: this will I do, make their words a doom irrevocable unto themselves. > not a literal quote but!! Feanor’s Oath, which he (and his sons) think they cannot break...
Anyway. In conclusion.

Ironically, Tom is a metahuman who possesses the ability to transform into savage were-cat… a creature not altogether unlike an anthropomorphic wildcat. Helios – Greek God of the Sun
Picture https://www.deviantart.com/giye/art/HELIOS-149628354
In Greek mythology, Helios was the personification of the Sun and one of the strongest Titan gods. He is often portrayed as a handsome young man driving a chariot with four horses across the sky from the east to the west. Known as ‘the sun god’, Helios was also the god of sight and the guardian of oaths.
Helios didn’t play a major role in Greek mythology since he was gradually replaced by Apollo after the Olympian gods took over from the Titans. However, he does appear as a side character in the myths of mortals and other gods.
Who was Helios?
Helios was born to Theia, the goddess of sight and Hyperion, the Titan god of light. He was the brother of Eos, the goddess of the dawn, and Selene, goddess of the moon. Helios is described as a handsome god with bright, curly hair and piercing eyes.
Symbols of Helios
Helios’ most popular symbol is his chariot. Drawn by several horses, Helios rides the golden Sun Chariot each day, crossing the sky from East to West which is symbolic of the sun’s journey.
Another popular symbol of Helios is the horse, the animal that pulls the chariot across the sky. Helios has four horses – Aethon (Blazing), Aeos (He who turns the sky), Phlegon (Burning) and Pyrois (Fiery One).
Helios is also represented by aureoles, which refers to the rays of light often drawn around the heads of certain deities.
Helios’ Lovers and Children
Helios was married to the Oceanid Perse, but had several mistresses. Other sources say that he didn’t necessarily have a wife but had many lovers instead. Some of the most well-known women associated with Helios include:
Perse – Helios and Perse were married and had around four children.
Clymene – One of Helios’ mistresses, Clymen bore him several children, including Phaethon and the Heliades.
Clytie – A consort of Helios’ who eventually lost his love and died from sorrow. She eventually turned into the heliotrope, a flower which follows the journey of the sun during the day.
Rhode – The nymph of the island of Rhodes, Rhode bore Helios seven sons and a daughter.
Helios had several children, including:
Lampetia – The goddess of light.
Phaethusa – The personification of the blinding rays of the sun.
Aeetes – A Colchis king through whom Helios became the grandfather to Medea, the sorceress.
Perses – Who was slain by his paternal niece, Medea.
Circe – A sorceress who could use incantations and drugs to change humans into lions, swine and wolves.
Pasiphae – The wife of King Minos and mother of the Minotaur.
Phaethon – Known for trying to ride Helios’ chariot and dying in the process. Arguably the most famous child of Helios.
Myths Featuring Helios
Helios doesn’t play a central role in many myths, but makes frequent appearances as a side character in the story of others. Here are some popular myths featuring Helios.
The Cattle of Helios
Odysseus and his men were cast ashore on the island, Thrinacia. Helios had a large herd of cattle and he had forbidden anyone to touch them. However, Odysseus’ men didn’t take the warning seriously and while Odysseus was asleep, they captured a few of the cows and roasted the meat. Helios was greatly angered by this and went to Zeus to ask for vengeance.
When Odysseus and his men were leaving the island, a thunderbolt struck their ship, destroying it beyond repair. All Odysseus’ men perished, with only Odysseus surviving the event. He was spared as he had been the only one who hadn’t disobeyed Helios, since he had been fast asleep when his men hunted the cattle.
Helios and Heracles
As the Greek hero Heracles was crossing the desert to steal the cattle of the monster Geryon, as one of his Twelve Labors, he found Helios’ heat difficult to bear. Annoyed, he began to shoot arrows at Helios, who promised to help him if he would stop it. Heracles complied and the sun god gave him a golden cup which would help him to cross water on the way to the cattle. Heracless used the golden cup to sail across the seas.
Helios and Poseidon
Helios was a competitive god as were most of the gods of the Greeek pantheon. In one instance, he is said to have sought the sacrifices of Corinth. However, he had to compete for this against Poseidon, god of the sea.
The competition between Helios and Poseidon for the sacrifices of Corinth was so fierce and violent that Briareus, the mediator, decided that the acropolis of the city of Corinth would be given to Helios and the Isthmus would be for Poseidon.
Phaethon and the Unbreakable Oath
The story of Helios’ son Phaethon is probably one of the best known myths involving the sun god. Phaethon grew up always unsure that he was actually Helios’ son. He would search for assurances that Helios was his father and nothing his mother could say would reassure him. So Phaethon confronted Helios, seeking the assurance he needed.
Helios swore an unbreakable oath, promising to give Phaethon whatever it was that he wanted and Phaethon requested to be given the opportunity to guide his father’s chariot for a day. Helios realized that it would be folly to allow such a thing but since he had taken an oath, he couldn’t go back on his word. So, he put Phaethon in charge of his chariot.
Phaethon, however, couldn’t control the chariot like his father could. When it flew too close to the ground, it scorched the earth and when it flew too high, it caused some regions of the earth to freeze.
Zeus saw what was happening and decided he had to intervene or the world would be destroyed. He sent a thunderbolt, which killed Phaethon. Helios was devastated and blamed himself for what had happened. It took a great deal of cajoling from the gods to make him remount his chariot and continue his daily journey across the skies.
Helios vs. Apollo
Many people think that Apollo and Helios are the same god, however, this is a common misconception. The two gods are two different beings, with distinct origins who eventually becme conflated.
Helios was a Titan god and the personification of the sun, while Apollo was one of the Twelve Olympian deities and god of several domains including light, music, arts, archery, healing and poetry.
Helios was directly connected with the sun and controlled it with his golden chariot. He rode the chariot daily from east to west, bringing the sun and daylight with it. Apollo, on the other hand, was simply the god of light (and not specifically of the sun).
Helios was the original sun god but Apollo gradually replaced him. Due to this conflation, Apollo is sometimes described as riding the Sun Chariot across the sky, a role distinctly belonging to Helios.
Helios in Aesop’s Fables
Helios appears in the famous Aesop’s Fables, where he competes with the god of the north wind, Boreas. Both the gods wanted to make a passing traveler remove his clothing. Boreas blew and blew at the traveler but this only made him wrap his clothing around himself more tightly. Helios, however, made the traveler get warmer and warmer so that he willingly removed his clothing, making Helios the winner.

How about childhood-friends-to-lovers for V and Jumin? like they were super tight but then MC had to move away and then years later she joins RFA?
i’ve been saving this one for when i’d have the time to sit down and think of a nice story for them bc it’s such a great idea!! i hope you’ll like it :D since you mention a female MC, I’ll use she/her pronouns for this headcanons!
JUMIN:
* It was actually really funny how she met him-MC was at some boring party with her mom, wearing a fancy dress that made her back itchy, her hair tied into a braid that she wanted nothing more than to tug at and free this tension from her hair.
* Apparently some big-shot doctor was hosting a dinner party and invited MC’s family, as well as some other friends who all had children, and figured the kids could meet and become friends too.
* Well, MC didn’t want to be friends with these kids. They’re all big bullies and laughed at her dress the moment they saw her, so with a huff, she stormed out of the room, unnoticed by her mother as she was deep in a conversation with a group of flashy-looking adults, heading to the big gardens of the house they’d been invited to.
* There was a little artificial pond at the edge of the property, and MC could already see the koi fish swimming lazily in the water, their bright colours illuminated by soft warm lit lamps placed along the edges of the water.
* She also noticed something else-a small figure, right about her size, a boy with a black bob of hair whose back was turned to her.
* She didn’t mean to scare them-she simply was curious as to who this could be, and their hair, the closer she came to the kid the softer and nicer their hair looked, and she simply wanted to feel them for herself!
* Yet the moment she put her hand near the kid’s back, they flinched, taking notice of her presence and in their shock, moving away and falling straight into the pond.
* In an attempt to grab onto something and avoid falling, they grabbed onto the hem of MC’s dress, tugging her right along and into the cold pond water.
* She fell in with a splash, lucky that the water barely reached her knees-her dress however was soaked, her hair falling in front of her face as they’d come loose from her braid in the struggle.
* Yet none of that mattered. Not when she saw a pair of curious black eyes staring right at her, so big, so bright, it was like the moon itself came down and put the night sky into a pair of eyes.
* It was a boy, seemingly about her age, the one she’d tried to ruffle their hair. He was just as soaking wet as her, his shirt and tie a wet mess, his hair dripping droplets of dark pond water as he poked at it with a frown. He kept staring at MC, his frown deepening.
* “Didn’t adults tell you it’s rude to creep up on others?” he asked with a huff. MC gasped-why was this boy so rude?!
* “Didn’t they tell you it’s not nice to tug at a girls’ dress?” she snapped back, crossing her arms over her chest.
* The boy rolled his eyes with a huff. Seriously, just what was his problem? “You were rude first.”
* MC frowned. Even though his words were rude, she just couldn’t bring herself to be truly mad at him. Instead she got up, pulling her dress into a crumpled heap to drain the water off of it.
* The boy stuttered as she did, covering his eyes with his palms. “What are you doing?! You can’t just lift your dress up like that-put it back down!!” he yelled, his eyes tightly shut.
* MC snorted, dropping her dress back in place as she drained the final drops of water from it. She extended a hand to the boy with a lazy smirk. “You’re the one that tugged at it first. Anyway, it’s down now. You can look!”
* The boy hesitantly did, peeking between his fingers first before noticing her extended hand towards him, as he still sat in the dirty water.
* “I’m [insert name here]. It’s rude to talk for so long and not tell each other our names right?” she smiled deviously, and for a quick moment-the boy returned her smile, gone in an instant as his lips settled into a well-practiced thin line. He took a hold of her hand, tugging himself up from the water.
* “I’m Jumin Han, but you can call me Jumin” he started. For a moment he looked away sheepishly, tugging wet locks of hair away from his face. “...I’m sorry for dragging you into the water.”
* MC smiled. He was weird, definitely, and rude, but not like the other kids-he wasn’t mean to her, didn’t bully her about how she looked or acted-he was simply odd, unaccostumed maybe to interacting with people his age the way he did. “It’s okay Jumin, I’m sorry for scaring you. Your hair looked really fluffy and I tried to touch it, but I should’ve asked first.”
* “Oh” he said, blinking slow as he digested this new information. In turn, he extended a hand to MC, helping her out of the pond and onto solid ground, their clothes and hair still dripping wet, cooling by the evening summer air. “You can...you can touch it if you want. Although it’s not that soft” he shrugged.
* MC was flabbergasted. He’d let her touch his hair? Just like that?! She was so excited! With slow shaky movements, she raised her hand, approaching Jumin’s face-he expectantly let his eyes fall shut, his lashed posing dark shadows on his pink cheeks...
*...Yet before she could touch his hair, a scream interrupted them both, the sound of fast approaching footsteps seperating the two.
* “MC! What have you done, why are you all wet-oh no, why is Mr. Han’s son also like that?! What did you do to him?”
* MC immediatly noticed the change in Jumin’s expression as he saw her mom approaching them, a man who MC could only assume is Jumin’s dad quickly approaching. His face turned cold, so different from the soft blush and gentle expression he posed just moments ago-this was practiced, effortless as he shifted into an adult-like expression, softly bowing his head towards her mom.
* “I’m sorry ma’am, I fell into the pond and accidenatnly dragged your daughter along with me. I didn’t mean to and I take full responsibility.”
* MC wanted to argue, to say no! It was her fault, he shouldn’t be taking the blame for her, but one look from Jumin shushsed her-instead she bit her lip and nodded, guilt pooling quickly in her stomach.
* It took little time for the adults to seperate them, her mom dragging her back indoors as she looked for their coats so they could go home and have her take a warm shower, as Jumin’s dad took a hold of Jumin’s hand, pullling him to the opossite direction and towards a waiting limousine at the gates of the house.
* They lost contact for a while-MC desperately tried to get her mom to take her along to every party she’d go to, hoping that Jumin would be there to so she could talk to him, thank him for covering for her, apologise for letting him take the blame-but her mom kept refusing, saying that these weren’t parties for kids to go to.
* Eventually though they met again-not by coincidence, no. None other than Mr. Han himself called her mom, saying that his son wouldn’t stop talking about the girl he fell in the pond with at that party, and how he wants to meet her again so he can apologise properly.
* “My, what good manners this boy has!” MC’s mother stated as she drove them to the meeting place, a fancy cafe upstate, but MC simply rolled her eyes, hiding her smile beneath her palm-she knew better. Jumin was just smart, not polite.
* When they met again, Jumin looked more poised, more refined-he was wearing a shirt and tie again, and even little dress pants, his hands resting in his pockets as he stood from their table to greet MC when she came through the cafe’s doors, his hair back to its proper fluffy state of being-MC wasted no time. She immediatly dashed to Jumin, tugging him in a hug as tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
* “Jumin I’m so sorry I didn’t speak up last time, it was so unfair-I’m sorry!” she mumbled into his shoulder-Jumin was shocked, his hands hovering over MC’s back before he gingerly put them on her back, giving her a quick pat.
* “I-It’s okay. Please let go of me?”
* She did with a sniffle, giggling when she took note of his reddened face, how he tried to play it cool by running a hand through his hair-a trick he definitely leanrt by watching TV actors do.
* This was how the two became fast friends-Jumin was hesitant at first, because even at that age, he associated women with something evil, devious-he didn’t believe that he could come to like spending time with any girl, and definitlely he’d never like them how his dad likes them-but MC was different. She was fierce but gentle, and she didn’t make him feel like any other girl did.
* Eventually the two drifted apart-not by choice, not really. Jumin’s dad’s company was exponentially growing, and he had to move away to a different city for his dads buisness.
* Before he left he met up with MC one last time, tried to calmly explain the situation to her. He couldn’t bear to see her tear-stained face as he told her he was moving, nor how she tried to hide her sobs beneath her palms. He had no right to do what he did next, but he knew he might never see her again-so he did it.
* He tugget her hands away from her face, gulping his embarassment down as he leaned close and kissed her.
* “This-this is my first kiss” he aditter to a visibly shocked MC, “and now you have it. So-so even if I go away, you now will always have something of mine. The next time I see you, you’ll have to give it back okay?!”
* And so the years passed. The little kids became adults, Jumin becme the head of C&R, and MC followed her own path-and yet by fate she’s here again, meeting Jumin in the RFA messenger, shocked at how her childhood friend, her first love grew into this man she sees before her.
* She wondered if Jumin remembered her-tried to hint at who she was in the messenger.
* He didn’t really know it was MC until the day she went to his penthouse-the moment he opened the door, the moment he saw her face-he knew exactly who she was.
* They stared at one another for a long time, before Jumin smiled softly, taking a hold of her cheeks between his hands. He looked to her, leaning close, his smirk evident in his voice.
* “I believe you owe me something? I don’t forget debts you know.”
* MC could do nothing else but laugh as she threw his hands around him, kissing him fiercly, finally returning what she owed him.
V/JIHYUN:
* How the two met as kids was actually lost to time.
* Their mothers were close friends, so her life always felt intertwined with Jihyun’s-MC remembers her mother’s visits to their house, how Jihyun would dash to the house’s front door whenever MC and her mom would arrive, tugging at his mom’s skirt and pointing to MC as she walked down from the gate to their front door.
* He’d greet her with such enthusiasm everytime they met, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to ever match it. He’d dash down the front porch, nearly tripping on the steps as he opened his arms wide to crash into her with a bone-breakingly tight hug, giggling beside her ear with glee that his beloved friend was here.
* They didn’t meet all that often, since Jihyun’s parents were seperated-he would honestly mainly stay with his mom when he knew MC would be coming over-but when they did they’d spend hours playing house together-she actually met Jumin too, one day when he visited Jihyun’s house whilst she was there, and dragged him along to play with them, despite his initial apprehension towards MC.
* Jihyun was always so sweet and patient with her-he was a few years older than MC was, so he took the role of the older one very seriously. He was the one who helped her learn how to ride a bicycle, lending her his own so she could learn. He was there when she fell and scraped her knee, her prince in shining armour-he leaned down on one knee as she stood there crying, cleaning her wound like his own mom taught him how, putting a rainbow band-aid on top, then giving her knee a kiss. “This will make it all better!” he said with a toothy smile, and MC believed him-how could she not? His eyes could never bear a lie in them, never.
* When his mother passed away, she was there at the funeral along with her family. She saw Jihyun standing there, looking down at the casket, holding back tears as he bit his lips tight, the first time she’d ever seen him this vulnerable-she immediatly broke away from her mother’s grip on her hand and dashed across the church’s courtyard and over to Jihyun, grabbing his face between her hands and staring firmly at his face, trying her best to hold her own tears back.
* “If you feel something, don’t try and push it away! If you want to cry, cry. It’s okay” she said with resolution, and in all honesty, Jihyun was past his breaking point-those words were more than enough to make his tears fall freely, his teeth chattering as he tried to swallow his sobs, and MC was there the whole way through-hugging him tight, letting her shoulder muffle his cries.
* After the funeral they drifted apart-Jihyun’s dad moved the two away, leaving MC behind. It hurt, knowing that it wasn’t only the miles between them that’d be growing, but their hearts too-after his mom’s passing Jihyun became distant, colder. He refused to talk about the incident that took his mom’s life, and if MC tried prodding, to help him understand his feelings, he’d push her away-the last time they met actually resulted in a fight.
* He visited MC’s house to let her know he’s moving, his face stoic, his gaze avoiding her face. She was shocked, her lips shaking as she prodded him for more details-where are you going? For how long? When will you be back?
* She tried to tug his shoulder, to make her look at him, but he moved a step back, his face seeming hurt almost-did he want to distance himself that badly?
* “Jihyun-” she started, unable to hide her tears, “please stop being so mean to yourself-this isn’t what your mom would want!”
* At that Jihyun broke. His face a mix of hurt and anger, feelings he’d been bottling up breaking loose. “How would you know what my mom would want? Or what I want? You don’t know anything! Stop acting like you do!”
* His words took a vice grip around MC’s heart, shattering it to pieces.
* She couldn’t hide her tears at that, bringing her hands up to her face to wipe them away best as she could. It broke Jihyun to see her this way, to know he caused this-he made to reach out to her, to bring his hand to her face and comfort her, but he immediatly dropped it-he didn’t deserve to comfort her, not when he was the reason she was crying.
* He left silently, shutting the door behind him with a soft click. And just like that, Jihyun was gone from her life.
* When MC entered the RFA chatroom, she didn’t immediatly recognise V as Jihyun-the way he talked felt familiar, how he carried himself, something she couldn’t place.
* She didn’t realise until she also saw Jumin in the chatroom and greeted him excitedly, asking how he’s been. When she asked how Jihyun was, Jumin had to explain that V was, in fact, Jihyun.
*MC was floored. In her time away from him, he’d gone through this much? Getting engaged, losing his fiancee, becoming the leader of this organisation?
* Jihyun soon also found out who MC is after contacting Seven and asking for the information he gathered on her from his background check-one look at her photo and he immediatly knew who this was.
* He felt his stomach drop, his lungs fill with ice-cold fear as scenarios ran through his head. Why? Why MC? What was Rika doing?! Did she know how MC was linked to him?!
* He wasted no time in rushing to MC, knocking on the door of Rika’s apartment panting as he ran up the stairs.
* MC opened the door and there he was-her first heartbreak, in the flesh, his eyes wide, teary as he took her in, how she changed, how she looked to him with confusion and excitement and-and adoration.
* He wrapped his arms around her, resting his head on her shoulder as he took her in, she was here, he could feel her warmth, her scent-feelings he forgot, made himself to forget bursting in his chest, his own Pandora’s box snapping open.
* “I-I owe you an apology” he admitted after a moment, refusing to let go of MC-afraid that if he did she’d slip right through his fingers.
* MC simply shook her head, interlocking her fingers with Jihyun’s.
* “No V, no you don’t. I’ve forgiven you long, long ago.”
I got way too carried away with this and finding a way to work V’s story was hard, but boy was it fun :’) Hope you like it~ I’d happily write this into a fic tbh lol
